A 2020 Jeep Gladiator driving down a dirt hill

You may have heard the buzz around the all-new Jeep Gladiator — and it’s for good reason. 2020 marks the first year Jeep has been in the pickup truck game since the ‘80s. On top of that, the Gladiator is a truly unique vehicle. This cab of this compact truck resembles a Jeep Wrangler, and as with a Wrangler, you can remove the top and doors and even fold down the windshield. That’s something you won’t find on any other truck. Read on for more info on what kind of power is under the hood of this midsize pickup with this Dan Cummins Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Paris Jeep Gladiator engine specs guide!

2020 Jeep Gladiator Engine Specs

The 2020 Gladiator is designed for versatility — and built for power. That’s reflected in its 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine, which comes standard on all four trim levels. You’ll find this same efficient engine powering other Jeep model classics like the Cherokee and the Wrangler:

  • Variable Valve Timing
  • Engine Start/Stop technology
  • 285 horsepower
  • 260 lb-ft of torque
  • EPA Estimated 17 MPG City and 22 MPG Highway
  • 2020 Jeep Gladiator Engine Capability

Pentastar® V6 Capabilities

The Jeep Gladiator specs share a lot in common with the Jeep Wrangler, so you know it will have impressive towing abilities and the legendary Jeep off-roading prowess. If you need a pickup that can haul all your gear, and tires and suspension that can handle anything the rough roads outside Nicholasville throw at its way, consider the Gladiator. Check out the serious towing capabilities you’ll enjoy with one:

  • Best-in-Class* max towing capacity of up to 7,650 lbs
  • Trail Rated® off-road capability
  • Max payload capacity of up to 1,600 lbs
  • Standard 4×4 on all trims
  • Dana® 44 heavy-duty solid axles

2020 Gladiator Performance Upgrades

If your Gladiator will be taking on some particularly rough terrain, you have the option to upgrade from the standard manual 6-speed transmission to the available 850RE eight-speed automatic. The result is a smooth and responsive ride where other vehicles will feel all the bumps in the road.

For now, the only available engine is the standard Pentastar® V6, but Jeep will soon be offering the 2020 Gladiator with an option to upgrade to a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 EcoDiesel powertrain. When it comes to the Jeep Gladiator MPG, this engine will get you more efficient drives in Paris, as well as on the highway to Georgetown, and of course a lot more power:

  • 260 horsepower
  • 442 lb-ft of torque
  • 8-speed automatic transmission
