Hit the Water

There are plenty of reasons – and ways – to get your boat out on the water at Kentucky Lake. Dock your own boat at one of eight marinas on the water, or rent a boat or pontoon for floating, skiing, or stress-free fishing and let your cares melt away. If you do plan on fishing, you’ll need to buy your Kentucky fishing license and make sure you’re up-to-date on the rules – or have a good guide lined up – before you head out.

Gather Your Hunting Party

Kentucky Lake provides access to a variety of wild game animals, including waterfowl, white-tailed deer, turkey, and small game animals. You’ll need a Kentucky hunting license, a permit for the land you’ll be hunting on, and make sure you’re familiar with the rules of the area before you head out, so that you can be certain everyone remains safe.

Hit the Links

If your idea of sport includes a round of golf, then you’ll have seven public and private golf courses to choose from. Whether you’re a beginner who prefers to practice at the State Park, or you’re more advanced and want the challenge of a championship course like Miller Memorial, you’ll find the perfect match for your skills here.

Take a Hike

Kentucky Lake boasts miles of hiking and biking trails suitable for every fitness level. Whether you’re in search of an after-dinner stroll to work off the delicious food you enjoyed at one of the local resorts, or you prefer to hit the Land Between the Lakes Trails, you’ll find plenty of options in and around the lake. Cyclists are welcome, and dogs must be kept on a leash for their protection.

Relax on the Beach

Sandy, seasonal beaches surround the park and are essential spaces to blow off steam if you’re traveling with children or just want to lay out and enjoy the warm sun on your face. You’ll have 15 options to choose from, making it easy to find one near you, but the Moss Creek Day Use Area is among the most popular and busiest, so plan accordingly.
