For the last 75 years, the Jeep Brand has been associated with freedom and adventure. If you buy a Jeep, it says something about you. It says that you have an adventurous spirit and a passion for the outdoors, that you value adventure. With a Jeep, you can go anywhere and do anything. There is no obstacle you can't conquer. It’s a way of life, not just a brand.
Jeep has become a legendary brand for many reasons, and among them is the fact that Jeep continuously makes a quality product. Jeeps are built to last a long time, and this is what Jeep has built its reputation on. People know that they will be able to pass down their Jeep to their children. And the long-term value and high resale value are a direct reflection of the build quality of Jeeps. They are built for the toughest of conditions. They are built for where the pavement ends. While most cars are built for urban conditions, Jeeps are built for the trail, so you know that they are made well.
The other thing about the Jeep brand is that it is a brand that brings a smile to your face. When you think of Jeep, you think of driving on a mountain road with the top down. These are the intangibles of owning a Jeep. When you think of how much fun it is to drive a Jeep, the decision to buy a Jeep becomes easy. The Jeep Wrangler, for example, is unmatched in terms of its longevity. No auto manufacturer has ever been able to match the Wrangler’s off-road spirit or identity. Even though it got its start during World War II, the Wrangler still holds the spot as the most well-known and well-loved off-road-ready SUV to this day.
You will be able to find a Jeep for any purpose at Dan Cummins CDJR. Whether you are looking to conquer a mountain trail or are looking for a capable family hauler, we have many options for you to choose from. The Jeep Wrangler, for example, comes in many different trim levels so that you can be sure to find the perfect features for your lifestyle and off-roading needs.
If you happen to be looking for an SUV for your family and want a vehicle that is off-road ready, we recommend looking at a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Built for all of your family’s needs on-road, while just as capable off-road, this might just be the perfect family vehicle. With so many available features, the Grand Cherokee can be customized to have supercar-like acceleration with the Trackhawk model or serious off-road capability with the Trailhawk trim. And the Jeep Grand Cherokee can be anything in between as well. There are many trim levels to choose from, and lots of available and exciting tech and safety features to match any lifestyle.
If you’re looking for a fuel-efficient compact SUV that you can also take off-roading, the Jeep Compass is a great SUV. The Compass even has a Trailhawk trim, so you can find Jeep’s off-road capability at an affordable price. If you don’t need quite as much space as the Compass, you can check out the Jeep Renegade, which is a subcompact crossover with serious potential.
The first Jeep took form in the 1940s to meet the needs of the United States Army during World War II. This same basic vehicle has continued evolving ever since, although it now wears the Wrangler name to separate it from Jeep's growing line of other SUV and truck models. This iconic vehicle earned its reputation for adventure, agility, and performance the hard way, and the 2021 Jeep Wrangler lineup continues to impress. With its standard four-wheel drive and a variety of options for customization, it's easy to see why the Wrangler remains a favorite after all these years.
Jeep made several improvements and upgrades to the 2021 Wrangler, including a brand-new plug-in hybrid powertrain with impressive power and range. Dubbed the Wrangler 4xe and currently only available on four-door models, the hybrid system pairs a 2.0L turbocharged engine with a 16-kWh battery pack to provide an incredible 470 lb-ft of torque. And not only can it cover 400 miles on a single tank, but it can also drive 50 miles on battery power alone.
If you prefer to stick with a simple gasoline engine, the 2021 Wrangler offers the same three capable choices as before. These consist of a 3.6L Pentastar V6 with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, a 2.0L Turbo with 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, and a 3.0L diesel with 260 hp and an impressive 442 lb-ft of torque. For 2021, the diesel engine has been made available on more trims, making it an increasingly attractive option that provides power and efficiency without having to upgrade to the 4xe hybrid.
If you test drive a 2021 Wrangler at your local Jeep dealership, you'll discover that Jeep also included some new technology features that make the 2021 model the most technologically advanced Wrangler ever made. One of the biggest additions is the inclusion of a new TrailCam forward-facing camera. This works just like a backup camera, displaying the image on the 8.4" central touchscreen - except the camera can be turned on manually to give you a clear view of the trail ahead to dodge off-road obstacles like rocks, trees, and ditches.
The Wrangler's centralized touchscreen is the SUV's hub of technology and offers drag-and-drop functions that allow drivers to further customize the screen. It's from here that drivers can sync their smartphones using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Drivers can also access the Uconnect system that allows them to control the interior temperature and activate other settings at the touch of a button. Another impressive feature is the addition of Amazon Alexa, which enables drivers to send directions to the Wrangler, start the engine, or check fuel levels before stepping foot out of the house.
Ready for both on-road and off-road adventure, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee offers comfort, performance, and style in what Jeep praises as "the most capable midsize sport-utility vehicle." That is undoubtedly true for the 2021 Cherokee, thanks to its spacious interior and outstanding handling. It also boasts three different powertrain options as well as a long list of safety features that give drivers plenty of confidence when they get behind the wheel.
The 2021 Jeep Cherokee offers three powertrain options, with the top choice being a 2.0L Turbo. When paired with the nine-speed automatic transmission, the turbo offers exceptional performance and produces 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Its power doesn't sacrifice fuel efficiency either, with the engine averaging 23 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. The turbo is also ideal for drivers who need to tow midsize loads with an impressive towing capacity of up to 4,000 lbs.
The most efficient powertrain option for the 2021 Cherokee is the 2.4L Tigershark Multiair 2 engine. The Tigershark partners nicely with the nine-speed automatic transmission and delivers 180 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque with a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 lbs. Fuel efficiency is solid at 22 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway, making it an affordable choice for a daily driver.
The third powertrain option is the 3.2-liter Pentastar V6. The Pentastar delivers 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque with a slightly lower fuel economy of 20 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. Despite the decreased fuel economy, the Pentastar is the best choice for towing with a maximum capacity of 4,500 lbs.
Positioned as Jeep's luxury SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a truly unique vehicle. It offers the utmost in comforts, technology, and performance across its seven trims, from the base Laredo E to the powerful Trackhawk. Unlike the off-road-focused Trailhawk trim that is found on all Jeep SUVs, the Trackhawk trim is unique to the Grand Cherokee and, as the name implies, focuses on raw performance.
The Trackhawk is Jeep's highest-performing vehicle and boasts stunning acceleration with a 0 to 60 time of just 3.5 seconds. This speed comes from its impressive supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers no less than 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque. However, the Trackhawk is filled with performance features, including Launch Control, a Torque Reserve System, and Brembo brakes for exceptional stopping power. How's that for being track-ready?
Launch Control is engaged by a button in the center console and prepares the Trackhawk for launch by aligning the engine, suspension, transmission, and driveline. Drivers can also customize their experience behind the wheel by selecting one of five dynamic drive modes - Auto, Sport, Track, Tow, and Snow. But the best part about the Trackhawk is that it provides sports car performance without sacrificing the luxury SUV comfort and versatility expected of the Grand Cherokee.
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee boasts an array of safety and technology features that are new for 2021. The models offer over 70 standard safety features through the Protech I package with additional safety options available via the Protech II package. Standard safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection to alert drivers to potential obstacles. The Grand Cherokee also comes with ParkSense Rear Park Assist and a ParkView Rear Backup Camera that make parking a breeze.
The ProTech II safety package takes things to the next level and comes standard on the High Altitude, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk. However, it is also available as an upgrade on all the lower trims of the 2021 Grand Cherokee. This package includes Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking and Advanced Brake Assist, which aids drivers in avoiding potential collisions. The ProTech II also includes LaneSense Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist. Finally, the top of the line Advanced Protech II brings Adaptive Cruise Control, Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, and Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers. Jeep truly thought of everything when it comes to keeping drivers safe.
The technology on the Grand Cherokee doesn't disappoint and is based on Jeep's Uconnect technology. The Uconnect system is housed on a 7" or 8.4" touchscreen display and makes hands-free driving exceptionally easy. Other technology features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, as well as Uconnect 4C NAV, Bluetooth connectivity, and integrated voice command. These features embody Jeep's promise to keep drivers connected wherever they venture.
As we've stated before, one of the things we love about Jeep is that it is ready for anything. Here are a few famous places that you can take your Jeep to see all that it can do. Even more exciting is that one is in our very own backyard.
This is one of our favorite parks for off-roading and it's located not too far from here in Morehead, KY. With trail riding, mudding, rock crawling, and scenic lookouts, there is something for everyone. Here you will find black trails, where the terrain is less aggressive and the harder red trails, where there are steep grades and rutted areas. All trails are numbered for easy navigation—this a great place to take your favorite off-road vehicle and have some fun.
Located in Moab, Utah, the Moab Trails are considered some of the hardest off-roading trails you can find. Surrounded by stunning views of canyons, and with the deep Colorado River canyon below, the Moab Trails run for nearly eight miles. This a four-wheel-drive-only trail. The first mile is tough here, and it never lets up with slick rocks, rocky trails, sandy terrain, and blown sand. If you are going to take on this trail, you will need locking/limited-slip differentials, excellent ground clearance, and large-diameter off-road tires.
The Rubicon Trail is located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range near Lake Tahoe. The trails here run about 22 miles, and there is no better trail out there to test your vehicle. The trails consist of half-road and half-4x4 trails, man-sized boulders, dangerous ledges, and deep muddy water. There are also stunning views of the Sierras and beautiful mountain lakes. There are two ways to enter the trail, ether at Wentworth Springs or Loon Lake Spillway.
Set between Hamilton and Darby, MT, the Lake Como Trail is over seven miles long as it wraps around the lake. The first mile and a half can be driven with any vehicle, but it climbs fast to over 11,000 feet. The only vehicle that has a good chance of completing this trail is a heavily modified short-wheel-base 4-wheel drive SUV. This road was nearly shut down in 1997 due to how dangerous it is.
Fordyce Creek is located in Soda Springs, California, near the Rubicon Trail, and is a 10.8-mile trail used by off-roaders. This is more of a rock-crawling destination that consists of six river crossings that require 35-inch tires or bigger. 35-inch tires will only work later in the summer when the snow has mostly melted, and the water level is low. At high flows, not even 44-inch tires will be able to make it through. If you are brave enough to take on this trail, you will need a well-lifted vehicle with a locked short wheelbase with rocker guards and skid plates. You might also want to bring along straps and a winch and make sure you have tow hooks.
