The 2023 Ram 1500 Packs Quite a Punch

Winchester drivers often come to us for help selecting their Ram truck. With models ranging from the light-duty Ram 1500 to heavy-duty options like the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500, it can be difficult to know which grade is correct for your needs. As your go-to Winchester Ram dealer, the team here at Dan Cummins Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Paris is always happy to guide you through the process of picking out your truck, so you can have all of the power and features you need without paying for anything you won’t be using. For many DIYers and outdoor enthusiasts, the light-duty Ram 1500 is more than ready to handle your needs.
The massive, heavy-duty trucks from Ram are impressive and fun––we can’t argue against that––however, we tend to guide buyers towards the Ram 1500 when they are looking for something for moderate workloads or weekend excursions. When drivers check out the Ram 1500, they’re usually shocked by how much it has to offer. There’s nothing basic about its impressive features. Ram has built its half-ton model to pack quite the punch, so drivers with modest towing and hauling needs can enjoy some pretty awe-inspiring features. Here’s what you can expect if you visit us to shop for the 2023 Ram 1500.
Tons of Power and Trailering Features
The 2023 Ram 1500 has a total of three engine options, each offering dynamic power and solid fuel efficiency figures. This lineup of engines caters to drivers with different needs. When you opt for the 5.7L HEMI V8 with eTorque, you will enjoy a towing capacity of up to 12,750 lbs. Many of our shoppers are surprised that a light-duty truck can tow that much weight––but it can. The Ram 1500 can easily pull a camper, boat, or heavy equipment when fitted with the HEMI V8.
Another terrific engine option is the standard 3.6L Pentastar V6 with eTorque. The eTorque technology is a type of mild-hybrid system that uses regenerative braking to capture energy and store it for later. This makes the V6 with eTorque perfect for Winchester drivers who need an everyday vehicle or a commuter truck to travel long distances for jobs. Finally, the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 combines impressive power with fuel efficiency for the best of both worlds. It’s not every day that you see a manufacturer offer such a versatile array of powertrain technologies in a pickup truck.
If you plan on utilizing the trailering abilities of the Ram 1500 often, you’ll want to know you’re in control of whatever you’re trailering. That’s why we love to show off the available Trailer Reverse Steering Control feature. Here’s how it works: when you are backing up while trailering, you simply use a knob on the dash to tell the truck which way you want to go, and the vehicle’s system will take over the truck’s steering, giving you one less thing to focus on, and more command over your load. There is also an available integrated trailer brake controller to help you keep heavy loads in check.

Thoughtful Interior Touches for Your Driving Experience
The 2023 Ram 1500 also has many available interior features that will make long drives much more enjoyable. First off, it has available active noise control in the cabin. This can create a peaceful, quiet ride even when driving down bumpy roads. If you work on noisy job sites and around tons of power tools, it’s nice to slide into a serene cabin at the end of the day.
Pair the active noise control with the available 19-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Audio System, and you don’t have to listen to anything you don’t want to while hearing the music you do want crystal clear. In fact, no other truck of this class boasts this many available speakers. You’ll feel like you’re enjoying a private concert in your truck cab.
If you regularly travel through beautiful natural landscapes and want to take in the scenery, add the available dual-pane panoramic sunroof with its 10 square feet of glass. This is a nice feature to have for those who take a lot of road trips to natural landscapes near Winchester, like Daniel Boone National Forest or Red River Gorge Geological Area.
If you’re always exploring new terrain, you’ll also love the available TomTom navigation built into the Uconnect 5 NAV infotainment system. It has split-screen capability to show you various data points at once and pinch-and-zoom technology so you can get a closer look at what’s to come. It even boasts 3D graphics and can display points of interest along your route, like rest stops, restaurants, and gas stations, on the optional 12-inch digital instrument cluster.
Cargo Compartments Everywhere
The Ram 1500 has two excellent bed size options for stashing your tools, materials, dirt bikes, and the like. However, when it comes to those creature comforts and road trip essentials, you need plenty of secure cargo space, and the 2023 Ram 1500 has them. One of the best features is the optional RamBox Cargo Management System, which adds lockable waterproof compartments built into the sides of the bed above the wheel wells.
Inside the cabin, you have available in-floor storage, which is perfect for stashing valuables when you are away from your vehicle. There is also a huge reconfigurable center console, ideal for keeping things like sunglasses and phone chargers nearby. Plus, there are door pockets for even more places to keep small belongings, from snacks to maps. There are even available upper and lower glove compartments for your convenience.

A Luxury Package That Wows Drivers
For ultimate luxury, the 2023 Ram 1500 can be equipped with the Limited Elite Package. This adds gorgeous leather-wrapped seats, open-pore wood trim, a jeweled gear shift knob, and exclusive badging. It also boasts a 12-inch digital gauge cluster where you can see data like tire pressure and your next turn. Backseat passengers will enjoy 45.2 inches of rear legroom and rear seats that recline eight degrees, making this a great passenger vehicle.
DIYers will love the Multifunction Tailgate on this trim, with two swing-open doors and several convenient configurations. Plus, there’s a thoughtful step to help you get in and out of your truck bed. If you need a light-duty pickup for work but want a luxury vehicle, just ask our team to show you the 2023 Ram 1500 Limited Elite Edition.

How To Prepare Your Home For An Electric Vehicle
Electric vehicles increase in popularity every year. They offer significant advantages, such as low operating costs and less pollution. However, purchasing an electric vehicle isn’t a straightforward process. You must prepare your home for this new vehicle, as it requires an electric charge to operate. Therefore, you’ll need a charging station at home to avoid going to a public charging station every time your battery is low. Below, we’ll outline the steps to prepare your home for an electric vehicle.
View New Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
Know the Different Types of Chargers

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
The first thing to know about preparing your home for an electric vehicle is that you can get two types of chargers: Level 1 and Level 2. A Level 1 charger is your most basic charger, as it delivers the standard household current output of 110 or 120 volts. You’ll be able to recognize a Level 1 charger as it looks like the other plugs in your home, with three prongs that go into the outlet. When you buy an electric vehicle, you’ll likely get one of these chargers included with the purchase.
A Level 2 charger is more complex but charges the vehicle faster. For example, a Level 1 charger provides around three to five miles of range per hour. So, it can take an entire day to fully charge an electric vehicle with a Level 1 charger. A Level 2 charger provides around 25 miles of range per hour, making it a much faster option. A Level 2 charger uses about 240 volts, double that of a Level 1 charger. It is ideal for people who plan on driving their vehicles frequently.
From this, it would seem to make sense to opt for the Level 2 charger. However, a Level 2 charging station requires a more complex setup and a more significant energy requirement from your home. It could overload your home’s electrical consumption capability if you don’t properly prepare for it. Therefore, you’ll want to carefully consider whether a Level 2 charger is the right option for you.
Installing a Charging Station
Installing a Level 1 charging station within your home is typically easy. All you need to do is plug the vehicle into an available outlet. Check your garage area for an accessible standard 120-volt outlet. Most homes can accommodate the energy requirements of a Level 1 charger, so you don’t need to worry about overloading the system.
Going with a Level 2 charging station requires a bit more planning. Here is what you need to do if you decide to go with this system:
Determine Your Power Consumption
Before purchasing a Level 2 charger, you want to ensure your home can handle the increased energy consumption. To do this, you can perform an energy audit on your home. An easy way to do this is by installing an electricity usage monitor, which will tell you how much electricity your major appliances use. You can then add them up to determine your power consumption level.
Once you know this, you’ll want to compare it with the maximum energy rating of your home. You can find this information on your circuit breaker or energy panel. For example, energy panels installed before 1965 typically have a rating of 60 amps, while later systems are around 100 amps. Newer panels can have ratings of 150 to 200 amps, sometimes even more. Once you know your home’s rating, you’ll want to take 80% of this number, as you typically don’t want to go over 80% of the maximum allowed amount.
All these calculations should give you an idea of how much power your home typically uses and how much you have available based on your energy panel’s rating. You can then determine whether you have enough energy left over to get a Level 2 charger, and if so, what kind.
Get the Right Vehicle Charger
When it comes time to buy the charger, you’ll have a few options. You’ll want to carefully consider your vehicle’s battery capacity, as higher-capacity batteries need more powerful chargers. However, the most popular choice is a 30-amp, 240-volt Level 2 charger. As long as 30 amps of energy are available within your home, this charger should provide enough power to fully charge your electric vehicle overnight.
Install the New Charger
After getting the proper charger, you then need to install it properly. To do this, you’ll need to hardwire your new charger into your home’s power station. While it’s possible to do this on your own, for most people, it’s wiser to hire a professional. A professional is best suited to install the charging station safely, and you don’t have to risk injury. Talk to a local electrician and ask for a cost estimate.
Explore This Alternative Option
If you want to get a Level 2 charger but don’t want to go through the complicated installation process, there may be an alternative solution. Some garages come equipped with a 240-volt outlet, typically used for your home’s dryer. If you have one of these outlets, you can purchase a 30-amp charger and plug it into this outlet. If you’re using this outlet for a heavy appliance already, you would need to unplug that appliance every time you want to charge your vehicle. This solution won’t work for everyone, but it’s worth exploring to see if it works for you.

Is Dodge Coming Out With An Electric Car?
Electric vehicles (EVs) are growing more popular each year. However, some people are hesitant to make the switch because they don’t want to leave the comfort and experience they’ve come to expect with their gas-powered vehicles. This is especially true for muscle car owners, who enjoy the power, feel, and sounds that come with their cars. Luckily, Dodge has plans to release an EV that’s sure to make muscle car enthusiasts happy.
Dodge’s Plans for an Electric Muscle Car

2024 Dodge Charger Daytona SRT
In the upcoming years, Dodge is going to attempt an interesting trick. They’re going to release an EV that looks and sounds like their famous Charger muscle car. Dodge plans to release the vehicle, currently called the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT, in 2024. This vehicle will come after Dodge ends its production of the V-8-powered Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger at the end of 2023, which marks the end of Dodge producing full-sized gas-powered vehicles.
As of now, the new Dodge Charger looks just like you’d expect a Charger to look. It’s got the old-school muscle car shape while also looking aerodynamic. Dodge revived the old triangular logo from the 1970s to go along with this new breed of EV.
One of Dodge’s biggest points of emphasis is to have the Charger Daytona SRT sound like a classic muscle car, as this is often one of the favorite features of muscle car owners. Unlike most EVs, which are incredibly quiet, the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT will use a combination of organ music and a system they’re calling “Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust” to produce a sound that can reach 126 decibels.
Finally, the last element Dodge focused on was the driving experience. While most modern EVs can perform just as well, if not better, than some muscle cars, they don’t always have the same driving experience. Dodge aims to fix that by offering drivers of their new EV a transmission experience despite lacking a traditional gearbox. Essentially, this will allow drivers to use mechanical shifting like in a standard muscle car, something that’s new for EVs.
Dodge is still working out the final details of its EV. However, if it ends up being close to the concepts released so far, it should appease many muscle car enthusiasts looking to make the change to an EV but don’t want to leave the muscle car experience behind.
Benefits of an EV
In addition to having the feel of a muscle car, the new Dodge EV will come with all the other advantages of getting an EV. Some of these advantages include the following:
Gas Savings
One of the primary reasons people choose to get an EV is to save money on gas. With a full EV, you don’t need to stop for gas every couple of days. Instead, you charge the battery in your vehicle either at home or at a public charging station. The cost of this electricity is typically much lower than that of gas, allowing the owners to save some money.
Latest Technology
Another great benefit of EVs is that they come with the latest technology. Since all EVs are relatively new, the technology inside them is also pretty new. Even if you purchase a used EV, you’ll still find some of the latest entertainment, safety, and convenience features inside.
Better for the Environment
Finally, EVs are better for the environment. Since you’re not burning and using gas, you’re releasing less CO2 into the air. Vehicles running on gas are one of the larger contributors to climate change. By switching to a vehicle that runs on electricity, you can help protect the environment, all while enjoying the other benefits of an EV.
How To Prepare Your Home for an EV
When you buy an EV, you’ll need to do a little preparation at your home. This is because you need a charging station in order to recharge the battery as it drains through use. There are two types of charging stations available for home use: Level 1 and Level 2.
A Level 1 charger is easy to use in the home. You simply plug it into a standard wall outlet and the other end into your vehicle. The downside of a Level 1 charger is that it takes longer to charge your vehicle. If you plan to drive your vehicle often, a Level 1 charger may not provide power fast enough for you.
The other option is a Level 2 charger. These charge EVs much faster, with most able to provide a full charge overnight. However, to install a Level 2 charger, you often need to wire it directly into your home’s electrical system. Level 2 chargers also have a larger energy requirement, and you’ll need to make sure that your home can handle the increased electricity demand.
When you begin the process of purchasing an EV, the dealership can provide more information on what you need to do to prepare your home. It may require a little extra time and work, but once you complete it, you’ll be set up for an EV for years to come.

Is Jeep Coming Out With an Electric Vehicle?
Each year, more electric vehicles (EVs) hit the market. As more vehicle manufacturers release EVs, more buyers await news from their favorite auto manufacturers. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting an announcement from Jeep, you’ll be excited to learn more about its upcoming EV as well as the hybrid and electric options it is already offering. Whether you want to buy a new or used Jeep, you’ll surely be impressed by Jeep’s EV plans.
The Mysterious New Jeep EV

Jeep Wrangler 4XE
Jeep recently announced a new Jeep EV, but the details are mysterious. In fact, we don’t even know the name of the new electric SUV, but it will be released sometime in 2023. This will be the first Jeep to use a battery as its main power source, though Jeep has been working to make all versions of its vehicles emissions-free by 2025.
Jeep has released pictures of the new EV, and some people have pointed out that the new Jeep looks a lot like the Jeep Compass. The key differences include a faux grille and durable cladding. While some Jeep fans have anticipated that Jeep would first work on turning the Grand Cherokee or Wrangler into an EV first, this doesn’t appear to be the case.
Some outlets have speculated that the Jeep EV will have a range of about 250 miles. It may be a rear-drive vehicle with an all-wheel-drive option. No word is available yet on how much the new EV will cost, but it’s likely to come with multiple trim levels to choose from. If you’ve been hoping for a Jeep SUV, this one may be worth the wait. You can expect more details on this mystery vehicle in the coming months.
Jeep Hybrid SUV Options Are Already Available
Many car shoppers might not realize that Jeep already offers some efficient hybrid SUVs that use plug-in technology. You’ll have two charging options if you buy one of these SUVs. The first is Level I charging with a 120-volt charging system that plugs right into your home’s electrical outlet. You also have the opportunity to charge with a Level II TurboDX EV charger at 240 volts. It charges much faster, filling your battery in a matter of hours.
Jeep has also announced its own branded solar-powered charging stations to be placed on popular trails so that eco-friendly explorers can charge their vehicles on the go. Locations for these charging stations include Utah’s Moab as well as California’s Rubicon Trail and Big Bear. The stations can charge all EVs, but Jeep owners will have access to free charging.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe has a 2.0L DOHC DI Turbo I4 engine packed with 375 horsepower. Plus, the battery is encased in a waterproof setting, so you can be sure that your adventures don’t jeopardize your Jeep’s safety and efficiency. This Wrangler is touted as the first electrified open-air SUV. It still offers all the bells and whistles you expect from a Jeep, including tow hooks and all the power you need to explore the way you want to.
The hybrid Wrangler offers a 17-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and regenerative brake booster. Drivers will enjoy an eight-speed automatic transmission. You’ll also be able to travel farther. The estimated MPGe is about 49 miles, while the fuel driving range is about 370 miles. You’ll have the option to choose how you want to drive and whether you are using gas or electricity. On electric mode, your Jeep will have extremely low emissions. Additionally, there are three trim levels available for the Wrangler 4xe, including the Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude.
Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
The Grand Cherokee 4xe is also a plug-in hybrid. The vehicle’s two electric motors help you maintain just as much power as you need to tow up to 6,000 pounds. All the while, you’ll be driving an eco-friendly car suited for adventure thanks to its Quadra-Trac II 4×4 system and a water-sealed battery pack. The new Grand Cherokee offers 375 horsepower and 56 MPGe.
You can drive your Cherokee in hybrid mode, which uses regenerative braking, or electric mode, which uses only battery power. You can also use eSave mode, which saves the electricity for later and uses fuel to help you get where you’re going. You’ll have a driving range of about 470 miles combining gas and electric power. In addition to the base model, several other trims are available, including the Trailhawk, Overland, Summit Reserve, and Summit options.
The Jeep Magneto Brings You a Fully Electric Wrangler
Jeep has announced a fully electric Wrangler that will be released as the Magneto and Magneto 2.0 in 2024. If you’re looking for a way to improve your efficiency beyond the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid, the Magneto is a fun off-roading vehicle to try. The first completely electric Wrangler looks a lot like the traditional Wrangler, except that it comes with a manual transmission.
One key fact to know about the first version of the Jeep Magneto is that it is not especially powerful, with 285 horsepower. On the other hand, the Magneto 2.0 upgrades the motor and brings 625 horsepower to the table. However, this level of power is not achieved without a lot of effort. You’ll have four 800-volt battery packs in your vehicle. In just two seconds, you’ll be able to take your SUV from zero to 60 mph.
Jeep has announced not only its plan for a new all-electric SUV, but the manufacturer has also announced that it has plans for a complete EV lineup by the year 2025. Dan Cummins Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Paris knows that many drivers are anticipating new EVs hitting the market soon. Whether you are set on an electric vehicle or not, you can test drive a Jeep and see how you feel about each of the newer models. As you look for your new Jeep, check out our new and used vehicles to learn more about what’s on the market.
