Trim Options and Prices

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has six trim levels: the Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. Whether you’re looking for something sporty and sleek or luxurious and comfortable, there’s a Grand Cherokee trim that’s perfect for you. Here, we break down the different trims and what they have to offer.
-
Laredo: With a starting MSRP of $39,395, the Laredo is Jeep’s entry-level model, but it’s far from basic. This puppy comes standard with slim LED horizontal headlights, an 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
-
Altitude: The Altitude starts at $44,105 MSRP and builds on the Laredo with leather upholstery, Satellite Radio, Wi-Fi Hotspot, keyless entry, power steering, and other features.
-
Limited: With a starting MSRP of $46,215, the Limited trim is where things start to get really luxurious. For example, while the Laredo comes with cloth seats, the Limited is upholstered in Capri leather. You also get Quadra-Trac I all-wheel drive and heated seats in the first and second rows to keep everyone toasty.
-
Overland: The Overland has a starting MSRP of $56,305 and is the sportiest and most capable of the bunch. It features a 5.7-liter V8 engine and the advanced Quadra-Trac II four-wheel-drive system. You also get a sport-tuned suspension, which offers some serious off-roading capability.
-
Summit: The Summit is the luxurious top-of-the-line model, starting at $60,070 MSRP. It benefits from massaging front seats, quad-zone automatic climate control, lane-centering assist, traffic sign recognition, driver-attention monitoring, and a surround-view parking camera system.
-
Summit Reserve: The Summit Reserve is the range-topping model and starts at $66,550 MSRP. As the name suggests, this trim is all about luxury and comfort. It offers the ultimate list of features and amenities, including a 19-speaker McIntosh premium audio system, Palermo leather upholstery, and ventilated rear seats.
Interior and Cargo Capacity
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been a comfortable and practical SUV, and the 2023 model is no different. The interior is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for five adults to sit comfortably. The seats are well-cushioned and offer good support. The front seats are particularly comfortable, with plenty of adjustability to help you find the perfect driving position. There’s also a generous amount of headroom and legroom, even in the back seats.
Creature comforts abound in the 2023 Grand Cherokee, with standard features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Higher trims add even more luxury features, such as heated and ventilated front seats, massaging front and back seats, and a 19-speaker premium audio system for the ultimate sound quality.
Regarding cargo space, the Grand Cherokee offers 46.9 cubic feet with the rear seats up and a whopping 84.6 cubic feet of space when you fold them down. That’s more than enough room for weekend getaways or hauling around large items. If you need even more space, the Grand Cherokee is also available with a trailer-tow package that can tow up to 7200 pounds. Whether you’re headed to the mountains or the beach, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has the space and comfort you need to enjoy the ride.
Performance and Fuel Economy
While most automakers only offer a single engine in their SUVs, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has multiple engine options to choose from. While Grand Cherokee fans will be familiar with two of them, there’s also a newly available plug-in hybrid in the lineup. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates 293 horsepower and 257 lb-ft of torque, which is plenty of power for most driving situations. For something more powerful, there’s also a 5.7-liter V-8 engine with 357 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, which is surprisingly the only midsize SUV in the mainstream segment that’s powered by a V-8.
For those wanting the best in fuel efficiency, a new plug-in hybrid 4xe model pairs a turbocharged 2-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. This powertrain is suitable for a combined output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle model has an estimated electric-only range of 25 miles and can tow up to 6000 pounds. As you can see, there’s an engine option to suit every driver in the Grand Cherokee lineup. So, no matter your needs, there’s a Jeep Grand Cherokee that’s perfect for you.
Safety and Driver-Assistive Features
As with most new cars today, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes standard with a host of safety and driver-assistive features, including blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, and a rear cross-traffic alert system. Higher trims boast a full suite of advanced safety features, such as traffic-sign recognition, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and a surround-view parking camera system. No matter which trim level you choose, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has your safety covered.
While the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee hasn’t been fully crash-tested by either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety yet, it’s safe to say it will score well in both tests because it’s built on a solid foundation with high-strength steel and aluminum. Combined with the advanced safety features mentioned above, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is sure to be one of the safest SUVs on the road.
So, there you have it. Everything you need to know about the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When is The Best Time to Buy A Car?
Maybe it’s about time to get a new (or new-to-you) car, but you’d also like to see if you can get a good deal. If you allow yourself for some preparation, you can avoid some common car-buying mistakes and land yourself a great deal at your favorite local dealership.
View New Vehicles View Used Vehicles
Here are tips from Dan Cummins Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Paris, a full service dealership right in Paris, Kentucky, to help you decide on the best possible time to purchase that new car.
Before It’s an Emergency
The best time to buy a car is before you already absolutely need it. Last-minute decisions can mean you buy what’s available now as opposed to what you really want out of a vehicle. If you give yourself enough time to do thorough research, you’ll be able to get your finances together and come up with a list of features you want in your vehicle of choice. Our team can then help get you into the best vehicle that truly fits your lifestyle.
Toward the End of the Month

Oftentimes, dealerships will offer various discounts at the end of the month to help sales representatives meet their monthly sales goals. Sales representatives can often offer you additional savings or incentive programs to help you get into that new car by the end of the month. At the same time, though, each dealership has different quota policies, so some dealerships might offer these incentives at a different time. But no matter what, it can still potentially save you money during the financing process.
Early in the Week
There is a high chance of getting a good deal for a car purchase on a Monday (or even a Tuesday) because so many other potential customers already came in over the weekend. After that weekend rush is over, a sales representative can spend more time with you, getting to understand all of your needs. Just think about the fact that other people will also be car-shopping on major three-day weekends, so Tuesday is also a good choice. You’ll still get that deeply individualized service that gets you the best deal on the vehicle you want.
During a Three-Day Weekend
We did mention that a lot of people shop for cars on three-day weekends, and there’s a good reason why. Whether the holiday falls on a Friday or a Monday, car dealerships offer matchless promotional deals and amazing incentives during these long weekends. The four most popular three-day weekends for car deals are Labor Day, Memorial Day, President’s Day, and the 4th of July. Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends usually have the best combinations of promotional prices and vehicle selections, but President’s Day and Independence Day offer good price reductions, too.
We recommend visiting our showroom earlier in the week to narrow down your options, get some questions answered, and test drive your favorites. Then you’re prepared to buy right away when those deals activate over the weekend.
During Black Friday
Black Friday is one of the biggest consumer holidays for nearly every industry. As a result, car dealerships often take advantage of this customer mindset of shopping for the best deals to provide huge discounts on major models to increase their sales. The dealership is thinking ahead to their year-end sales targets and wanting to clear out excess stock before any model refreshes, so sales teams are motivated to move inventory.
Just like with those three-day holiday weekends, we recommend planning way ahead of Thanksgiving. Start your research earlier in the month, and feel free to ask our team any questions while you test drive what we have in stock before you clinch the deal.
At the End of the Calendar Year
Even after Black Friday ends, you can still see a good amount of discounts at your local dealership through the month of December. Dealers are looking hard at those end-of-year targets by now, and they can offer incentives, deep discounts, and extra amenities to help you get the car you’re looking for as well as secure higher sales figures. Data shows that December is one of the cheapest months to purchase a vehicle, as sellers are pushing to close their deals before New Year’s Day.
At the End of the Model Year
Manufacturers usually release a new model every year, so when the new model comes into the store, dealers work to reduce their stock of older models and trims to make room. This tends to happen during the end of summer and into the start of fall. Having the newest editions in stock means that last year’s model now has a lower level of demand — as well as price. So if you’re looking for a newer vehicle but don’t necessarily need the most recent model year, this is a good option for you.
Be sure to compare any new features to the outgoing model before you close the deal. The more updated the features are in the refreshed model, the greater of a discount you’ll most likely see.
When a Car Is About To Be Redesigned or Discontinued
Vehicle models don’t always change that much from one year to another. But sometimes, a new model year brings with it a total redesign of a given vehicle, from the exterior shape to the array of interior features. When this is happening for a car brand that you love, you can treat this just like you would the end of a regular model year. You can snap up the previous design for a significantly lower sticker price than the newest release.
Also, sometimes entire model lines get discontinued, maybe to make room for something totally new or because that model wasn’t very popular. Either way, keep an eye on any advertising that says a particular model is going to be discontinued. You’ll be able to get substantial discounts and even financing deals so that the dealership can clear it out.
No matter when you decide to take advantage of these deals, be sure to prepare in advance. Research all of your options, and get in touch with our financing department to see what options you have. We’ll be glad to help you get into the vehicle that’s best for your needs.
Is Ram Coming Out With an Electric Truck?
The Ram 1500 is one of America’s favorite full-sized pickups. With a versatile design that comes with various cargo bed lengths, cabs suitable for a family trip or the job site, and a strong engine lineup, there’s a lot to like about the 1500. Ram is preparing to modernize its range by releasing an electric truck in the near future. Our Ram experts here at Dan Cummins in Paris can fill you in on what we know about the automaker’s plans so far.
What Will Be Ram’s First Electric Truck?

RAM EV Truck By ramtrucks.com
Ram is planning to bring out a Ram 1500 EV for the 2024 model year. Stellantis, Ram’s parent company, made the announcement as part of its aim to electrify a wide range of vehicles across its entire brand lineup from Jeep to Chrysler.
The all-new EV truck is expected to give you an impressive driving range of 500 miles when fully charged. It will also have rapid zero to 60 mph acceleration and a strong towing capacity. Unlike other automakers who have tried to make their electric trucks or crossovers look similar to their gas-powered predecessors, Ram appears to be taking a more creative approach. The teaser images released for the Ram EV show a futuristic design concept.
Alongside the full-sized Ram 1500 EV, the automaker has shown its determination to appeal to a broader customer base by creating an all-new mid-sized pickup as well. Not much is known about the plans for that yet, which suggests that it will follow the successful release of Ram’s full-sized EV truck.
What Will the Ram 1500 EV Be Like?
Although we don’t have the new Ram EV in our Kentucky showroom yet, we have a reasonably good idea about some of its key features. Stellantis previewed this new vehicle at the 2022 Chicago Auto Show, which prompted a surge of interest for the latest addition to the EV market.
The Ram 1500 EV’s electric motor is likely to be positioned low enough to create space for a “frunk”, giving you more useful storage space at the front. Pictures indicate that there’s room for three electric motors, although only two have been shown so far. In addition, a spare tire could be located beneath the rear bumper.
If you want to influence how the Ram 1500 EV is built or the final feature lineup it will offer, Ram has launched a customer feedback program precisely to encourage your input. Ram Revolution gives you the opportunity to share your views about what you’d like to see in Ram’s first-ever electric truck. The scheme may also continue after the vehicle’s launch, letting the automaker gather your views to inform the adjustments it makes to the Ram 1500 EV over subsequent model years.
What’s it Like To Own an EV?
Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, and there are multiple reasons for this. A key factor is that EV prices are becoming more affordable as a larger number of automakers enter this segment of the market. Also, there is a growing network of EV charging options across the country, which is helping to reduce some buyers’ concerns about the convenience of recharging their vehicle’s battery.
If you decide to purchase a Ram 1500 EV when it’s released, one of the first things you’ll need to familiarize yourself with is your charging options. EV owners typically have three types of charging available to them: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. Level 1 charging is when you plug your vehicle into a standard 120-volt household power outlet. This option isn’t really practical for most vehicle owners because it takes a long time to recharge the battery. An average-sized car or SUV can take up to 40 hours to fully charge using Level 1 charging.
Level 2 charging is available at public charging stations, but you can also install this type of charger in your own home at your own cost. Level 2 charging is much faster, fully charging your vehicle’s battery in approximately 10 hours.
Your final charging option is Level 3, which is also sometimes called fast charging. These DC chargers are only available at public charging sites. They’re typically more expensive than Level 2 chargers, but they can recharge your electric truck much more quickly. Depending on the vehicle you’re driving, a Level 3 charger can fully restore your battery in one to two hours.
Ram 1500 Top Features
The gas-powered Ram 1500 has built up a loyal following in Kentucky over the years, and this is partly down to its great range of cargo and passenger options. The Ram’s latest design gives you a choice of cargo bed lengths: a longer one of 6 feet 4 inches and a shorter one of 5 feet 7 inches. If you want the Ram 1500 as a work truck, you can opt for the Ram 1500 Classic. This is based on a model that was phased out in 2019 and gives you the option of an 8-foot-long bed for extra storage.
The Ram 1500 also offers you two cab options. The smaller is called the Quad Cab, and it includes seating for up to five people. Adults can ride in both rows, although they’ll be most comfortable if you’re only taking a short drive. If you regularly have adult passengers in the rear row and you plan on traveling longer distances, you’ll probably prefer the Crew Cab. This larger cab offers almost 10 inches of additional legroom in the rear row.
We don’t know yet how closely the cargo bed and cab dimensions in the Ram EV will match those in the gas-powered Ram 1500. As more information about Ram’s all-new electric truck is released, you’ll be the first to know about it from our pickup experts here at Dan Cummins Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Paris.
If you have questions about Ram’s electric truck plans or want to know anything else about Ram pickups, don’t hesitate to contact us today . Our sales team in Paris will be happy to take your call or chat to you in person if you stop b
Car Detailing Do’s and Don’ts
Detailing is a restorative process. The idea is to get your vehicle looking like it did when it came off the lot, and it can be an economical way of restoring the interior and exterior’s factory-fresh luster. However, to get the most value from your effort, you should keep in mind the best practices to adopt, as well as those that are best to avoid. By adhering to these suggestions, you not only make the work easier but also prevent damage to the body, trim, and upholstery of your car.
The process involves more than just simple cleaning, so if you plan to detail your own vehicle, it’s important to know about the products, tools, and techniques to use. Read on to learn about the essential dos and don’ts of car detailing.

Detailing Products

The detailing products you use on the exterior of your vehicle can make a significant impact on the outcome. Do use a high-quality shampoo specially formulated for vehicle exteriors. Don’t use household cleaning products, such as dish soap or laundry detergent, as these are likely to strip the paintwork.
One of the most overlooked cleaning agents is water. To ensure that your water remains clean as you detail your vehicle, heed these simple tips. First, do be mindful of your order of operations. Clean the wheels and tires first, as these are the dirtiest components of the exterior. Don’t move on to the body before disposing of the water you initially used.
While working on the body, do use two buckets — one containing the shampoo water, the other with plain water. Dunk your clean wash mitt into the shampoo bucket, wash your vehicle, and then rinse the mitt in the plain bucket before reintroducing it to the shampoo. This practice prevents contamination.
When it’s time to wax the body, do practice restraint. A little bit of wax should be all you need to get the job done. Don’t overdo it. Using too much wax can leave streaks on the body, negating all of the work you put into creating an attractive exterior.
Detailing Tools
The tools you use contribute to the outcome as well. Do use soft materials for exterior detailing. In most cases, the best tool for the job is a car wash mitt, which provides a gentle surface for lifting away the dirt and grime on the body of your vehicle. Wash mitts are available in wool, microfiber, and synthetic materials. Wool and microfiber are the gentlest on paintwork, with microfiber generally being longer-lasting and more dirt-absorbent.
Don’t use a sponge. The composition of a sponge means it’s more likely to push grime around rather than lift it off, resulting in unsightly swirl patterns on the body. Sponges can also be abrasive, causing fine scratches to form on the paintwork.
For added protection of your bodywork, do consider using a grit guard. A grit guard is an object, typically made of plastic or metal, that you place in a bucket. It sits a few inches above the bucket’s floor and helps separate the clean water from dirt and grime that has transferred from your wash mitt.
Finally, be careful about your finishing tools. Do use soft towels for drying the vehicle, and don’t let it air-dry, lest you leave watermarks on the body. Also, do use a buffer to polish the body, which promotes an even application and consistent result. Don’t polish by hand unless you’ve mastered the art of manual application and shining.
Personal Practices
As the detailer, you can follow certain personal practices to ensure high-quality results from your efforts. For example, do wear soft clothes for the exterior detailing. Like a sponge, abrasive fabrics can rub against the paintwork and inflict very fine damage. In a similar vein, don’t wear jewelry or zippered items, which can leave highly noticeable scratches on the paintwork. Remove rings, watches, necklaces, and similar objects and store them in a safe place while you carry out your detailing tasks.
Also, do be mindful of where you’re working. The ideal environment for detailing a vehicle is in a cool and shady area. You’ll feel more comfortable as you perform the work, and it will be easier to avoid water spots that form when the surface of the vehicle is too hot. With that in mind, don’t work when it’s too hot outside. Either start your work at a cooler time of the day or, if possible, find a spacious indoor spot to complete your detailing.
Finally, consider your methodology. Do begin with a gentle spray of the exterior to loosen any debris and finish with a hose-down to wash away any remaining particles. Don’t neglect the nooks and crannies when you do this. Make sure to address the undersides, jambs, and deep crevices. Be careful with pressurized water, too. Don’t focus the spray on a single area on the body, as this can embed dirt that may end up scratching the paintwork. Also, don’t use overly hot or cold water. Warm water is ideal for exterior detailing.

Does My AC Use Gas In My Vehicle?
Paris residents know that Kentucky is no stranger to warm summers. You’re likely blasting your car’s A/C as you drive around exploring our town’s iconic wineries and museums. But as pleasant as the cool air feels, the little voice inside your head might be telling you that you’re wasting gas. Many people believe that the A/C is a gas guzzler, and considering how high fuel costs are, you want to save in every way you can.
Here at Dan Cummins Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Paris, we’re here to further investigate this common claim. Read on to learn how your car’s A/C unit works and whether it consumes as much gas as people would like you to believe. We also discuss whether it’s more fuel efficient to roll down the windows, share other ways to save on gas, and explore the fuel requirements of a car heater.

How a Car A/C Works

2022 Jeep Compass Interior
Before we elaborate on the fuel usage of a car’s A/C unit, it’s worth exploring how these units operate. Understanding the function of each component can help you better appreciate what’s necessary for it to work. Know that the A/C units in most vehicles have more or less the same parts and run on refrigerant, a high-pressure gas. Here’s a closer look at the main components across the majority of makes and models:
- Compressor: As its name suggests, a compressor compresses the refrigerant into a fluid. This compressed refrigerant then flows through a line to reach the condenser.
- Condenser: The condenser receives the fluid refrigerant from the compressor and removes heat from the liquid. The cool fluid then moves to the expansion valve.
- Expansion valve: Also known as the orifice tube, the expansion valve is where the refrigerant returns to its original gaseous state. The expansion valve pushes this gas to the receiver.
- Receiver: While some people refer to it as the drier or accumulator, the receiver’s purpose is the same regardless of its name. This component removes excess moisture from the refrigerant and transfers it to the evaporator.
- Evaporator: The evaporator pulls the refrigerant from the receiver and absorbs the heat from the gas passing through its core. The resulting cold air flows through your vehicle and keeps you cool on the hottest Paris days.
Does a Car’s A/C Use Gas?
Now that you know how a car’s A/C unit works, you likely won’t find it surprising that it uses gas. Its operation adds a load to the engine, requiring it to work harder than it would if you had the A/C off.
However, it’s important to note that the A/C unit’s load on the engine is relatively slight. The amount of gas it uses isn’t noticeable to most consumers, so feel free to turn it on as you please. Keeping your car cool is worth the minuscule cost. When you and your passengers are comfortable, you’ll experience safer and more enjoyable rides throughout Paris.
Should You Roll Down the Windows Instead of Using the A/C?
Even though a car’s A/C unit doesn’t significantly impact your fuel mileage, you might still look for ways to keep it off. Some budget-conscious drivers wonder if rolling down the windows can help them save. In fact, this approach can actually decrease your fuel mileage more than turning on the A/C would. Rolling the windows down causes your car to become much less aerodynamic and forces the engine to work harder. So, while you might enjoy the cool breeze, you likely won’t notice any gas mileage improvements, and your fuel costs might even increase.
However, rolling your windows down while driving at slower speeds around town might minimize the drag enough to prevent it from affecting your fuel economy. Nevertheless, keeping your windows up and the A/C on may be best, especially when driving at high speeds on the highway. It’s a win-win across the board, as you’ll get to optimize your fuel mileage and enjoy the benefits of a closed cabin. After all, many drivers don’t want to deal with the loud rush of wind, bugs, or summer rain.
Does a Car’s Heater Use Gas?
After learning about the fuel consumption of an A/C unit, it’s only natural to wonder if a car’s heater uses gas. The answer is similar in that the fuel consumption is negligible. The engine naturally creates heat as it operates, and this heat either leaves the car through the exhaust pipe or redirects to the coolant that flows within the vehicle’s HVAC system. The system’s internal fan spins and distributes warm air throughout the cabin with the help of electricity, which relies on fuel consumption.
Again, the usage is so minimal that turning on your heater is worth it. There’s no alternative like rolling down the windows, as you’ll only let cold Paris air into your cabin. The heater keeps you and your passengers comfortable during our frigid winters.
Tips for Being More Fuel Efficient
Your car’s heater and A/C unit use trivial amounts of fuel and keep your passengers comfortable. So, instead of leaving these systems off, use the following tips to be more fuel efficient:
- Inflate your tires to the manufacturer’s recommended levels. Properly inflated tires decrease rolling resistance, which can improve your fuel economy.
- Shut off your engine when stopping for more than a minute. Preventing unnecessary idling can help you prevent excessive fuel consumption.
- Maintain your vehicle. Regular maintenance, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, can help your car operate more efficiently over extended periods.
In short, your car’s A/C unit uses minimal fuel. You won’t see significant savings by turning it off or rolling down the windows. Feel free to blast cool air and keep your passengers comfortable. Use the other tips we’ve provided to improve your car’s fuel economy and save the money you want. If you want to become even more fuel efficient, contact one of our representatives to learn about buying an economical vehicle.

2022 Ram 3500 Towing Capacity
When shopping for a new truck, learning about its towing capabilities can be crucial in ensuring you can carry the weight you need with your truck. The heavy-duty Ram 3500 features several options of engines and transmissions that can provide you with incredible towing capabilities, whether you’re pulling construction vehicles for work or the family RV on vacation. Let’s look at some of the key details about towing capacity and explore the capabilities of the 2022 Ram 3500.
Why Is Towing Capacity Important?

Dodge Ram 3500 Heavy Duty Cummins Turbo Diesel by SoulRider.222 is licensed with CC BY-ND 2.0
Towing capacity is crucial for people hoping to haul trailers and heavy machinery for various purposes. For example, construction teams might transport other vehicles to sites along with equipment in the truck bed. You might also use this feature to carry a trailer for recreation if you’re planning a camping excursion or road trip that can take several days. With a higher towing capacity, you’ll be able to carry larger loads, being able to bring more along on each trip.
Knowing your towing capacity can be crucial in avoiding any damage to your vehicle. If you exceed your towing capacity, you might break your hitch or put yourself in an unsafe driving situation that could harm your goods or cause an accident on the road.
How Do You Measure Towing Capacity?
When thinking about towing capacity, car manufacturers calculate and communicate several measurements to gauge how the Ram 3500 and other vehicles can handle towing. Here are some of the common measures you’ll see when shopping for a vehicle:
- Payload: Payload is the total weight of everything you carry in your car, including your passengers. This figure also includes the weight your truck bears on the tow ball.
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: This figure is the total amount of weight your truck can carry.
- Aggregate Weight Rating: This figure is the maximum amount of weight you can hold in a trailer. AWR includes the weight of the trailer itself and anything inside of it.
- Gross Combined Weight Rating: This is the total amount your truck and your trailer can carry. GCWR includes the weight of the vehicles along with anything inside of them, including equipment and passengers.
2022 Ram 3500 Towing Capacity
Several factors can influence the towing capacity in the Ram 3500. For example, different combinations of suspension, transmission, and engine power can allow you to tow more than others. Each of the Rams comes with a link-coil rear suspension with the option for rear-air suspension. They also all have rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission to help pull heavy loads. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating can be up to 11,100 lbs in these models.
Ram boasts that you can carry a fishing boat up to 2,500 lbs, a car up to 4,000 lbs, a fifth wheel up to 12,750 lbs, and a tractor up to 15,500 lbs. The maximum payloads allow you to haul up to 7,680 lbs of equipment in the truck and bed.
For engine options, you can select one of three for your Ram 3500. Let’s look at how these different engines impact the towing capacity for each.
6.7-Liter High-Output Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 Engine
This engine puts out 420 horsepower and a whopping 1,075 lb-feet of torque for intense power and handling. With this engine, you’ll also opt for the six-speed automatic transmission built to handle the additional power. You’ll get a payload of up to 6,570 lbs and a towing capacity of 37,090 lbs for carrying big vehicles or equipment.
6.7-Liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 Engine
This more standard turbo diesel engine has a horsepower of up to 370 and puts out 850 lb-feet of torque. This engine also comes with a six-speed automatic transmission to handle the diesel capabilities. You’ll get a maximum payload of 6,840 lbs., but the towing capacity is a little less than the I-6 at 22,670 lbs.
6.4-Liter Hemi V-8 Engine
The basic Hemi engine for the Ram 3500 comes equipped with the standard eight-speed automatic transmission. This one has 410 horsepower and 429 lb-feet of torque. You’ll get the highest maximum payload with this engine at 7,680 lbs but the lowest towing capacity at 18,210 lbs.
2022 Ram 3500 Towing Technology
Along with the capabilities of the 2022 Ram 2500, you’ll also find key towing technology that can help you handle the heavy loads you might carry. For example, you’ll find a 360-degree trailer camera that allows you to see everywhere around the trailer. This helps when backing up your truck or parking in certain locations. You can also enable tow-mode on the rearview mirror. This mode allows you to see behind your trailer with a camera on the rear bumper with live views.
Along with tire-pressure monitoring for the truck itself, you’ll also be able to view your trailer tire pressure from your digital cluster. This provides a view of every tire on the trailer and can help you identify if any of the tires are low, so you can put air in them before you get back on the road.
2022 Ram 3500 Towing Exterior and Hardware
With the available rear-air suspension, you can also lower your truck and the hitch to the lowest possible point, making it easy for hitching. You can also explore the fifth-wheel/gooseneck package for additional hardware for trailering. If you have to hook anything up at night, the 3500 also comes with a trailer hitch light.

Why Get a Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating?

When your vehicle is exposed to harmful ultraviolet rays, harsh chemicals, and other contaminants, the paint will slowly begin to fade or even deteriorate. All other contaminants aside, the sun’s ultraviolet rays cause your car’s paint to undergo oxidation. Getting an application of the Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating will dramatically reduce the effect of the sun’s rays and keep your vehicle’s glossy finish like new for years. It will also provide excellent protection against harsh chemicals and many other types of contaminants.
What Is Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating?
Simply stated, the Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating is an extra layer of protection that covers your vehicle’s clear coat finish. This ceramic coating forms an exceptionally hard shell over the top of your car’s paint and provides a dazzling gloss finish. This extra layer primarily includes protection against:
- Weathering.
- Gloss loss.
- Color fading.
- Oxidation.
Unlike conventional wax, which only lasts for a few months, Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating will last for many years. This ceramic coating creates a molecular bond with your vehicle’s existing paint and isn’t easily dislodged by external forces or vibrations. So when you opt for the Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating from Dan Cummins dealerships, such as Dan Cummins Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Paris, there are many benefits.
What Are the Benefits of Purchasing the Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating?
The Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating offers immediate and long-term benefits. A few of the benefits you will surely appreciate are:
A Good Investment
Protecting your vehicle’s exterior finish is a good investment. Not only will you have a permanently protective shell on your vehicle’s exterior, but your car’s resale value will be remarkably higher down the road.
An Always New Look
The ceramic coating provides a depth of color and gloss that you’ll notice immediately. There are no other exterior protective coatings that compare to the Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating. After this ceramic coating is applied, it will provide protection and shine for years if properly maintained.
Less Maintenance
Who likes to perform more maintenance to keep their vehicles clean? How does less maintenance sound? The inherent slick surface of the ceramic coating doesn’t allow tar, brake dust, or dirt to stick to your car’s paint, glass, or wheels. The slick surface takes little to no effort for you to remove contaminants, causing less damage when washing your vehicle.
Resistance to Environmental Fallout
Environmental fallout comprises bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap, and other aggravating contaminants. The Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating is resistant to these and provides unparalleled protection for your vehicle’s paint.
Chemical Resistance
Vehicles are consistently subjected to harsh chemicals. These chemicals will strip conventional sealants, waxes, and other types of paint protection from your vehicle’s paint. This will leave it exposed and vulnerable. Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating is resistant to harsh chemicals and continues to protect your car’s paint after coming in contact with such chemicals.
What Is the Process for Applying the Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating?
Get the Liquid Diamond Ceramic Paint Coating for a finish that will maintain your vehicle’s paint job and keep your car as lustrous as the day you purchased it. In addition, this ceramic coating provides added protection from scratches, dings, fading, stains, and chips.
